Hello, this is Beth Dewell for the Mars Exploration Rover Flight Director report for Tuesday July 20th 2004.

Currently on Spirit we’re on sol 194, just at the end of the day. On sol 194 we pre-RAT-ted ‘Wooly patch’ and we also oriented ourselves at our 4 degrees northerly tilt, which we were able to confirm. It helps our energy situation. We also did MI mosaics of five positions of the target ‘Sabre’. On sol 195 our plan is to do 90 minutes of RAT-ting followed by post-RAT imaging and then an overnight APXS integration.

On the other side of the planet on MER-B Opportunity, we’re currently on sol 174 midday. When the engineers came in this morning, they confirmed that our situation looked good from sol 173. So we uploaded our sequences for sol 174. On sol 174 we’re doing atmospheric observations with the Mini-TES including remote science and some IDD work of the target ‘Arnold Ziffel’. We’re also gonna do a tool change to APXS and do overnight integrations there.

And that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
