slaster = thruster ???

If they had a fail-open problem for a thruster, that's not good news for the propellant budget...

http://smatsu.air-nifty.com/lbyd/2005/11/250_a42c.html

Operater sent to go into safe-mode to Hayabusa, and he suceeded.
So We could stop the thruster that is not working, maybe.
Prof. Matogawa said 'Hayabusa is lucky as a phoenix.'

Next transmission between Hayabusa and Madrid DSN will establish by 19:30 JST.

It appears that two projectiles were fired this time.
Is this the standard procedure, or a recent decision?
Earlier posts here state that one bullet remains. Is that really a single bullet, or a pair?

The English translation of the press conference in Matsuura's blog contains the following:
QUOTE
At 7:35 AM, we confirmed two bullets (projectiles) were fired.

The Excite/BizLingo translation of the Q&A (human translation not available) contains:
QUOTE
To increase the amount of the sample collection, the bullet is launched by two every 0.2 seconds.

Google says something similar.
(The following also appears later in the machine-translated Q&A, but I don't claim to understand it all:)
QUOTE
The Sankei Shimbun  Sample like any can be collected with two bullets?
Kawaguchi  It might be hundreds of milligrams still. Two was stricken by thinking it was likely to become a collection from the Lego squirrel. The amount that can be trapped is a little in the sampler though the amount of dispersion increases when the bullet is shot into the Lego squirrel.

This is a partial Google translation of the Matsuura'a blog http://smatsu.air-nifty.com/lbyd/

"...Morning o'clock of 6 52 minutes, the temporary target marker discharge sequence is issued. When the target marker is a plural, because the guidance system is confused, it did not drop. From the fall middle, the previous target marker was observed. The target marker originally uses for the guidance and control of cross direction, but not using the target marker, as a result of previous landing, because the self-confidence which can do induction was possible, it united the sequence of fall * landing with the prerequisite which basically does not use the target marker..."

Does it says that the target marker didn't drop in the last landing and Hayabusa used the marker from the previous attempt? Am I getting this right?

Yes, that's right.
Professor Matokawa told they found the marker from the previous attempt and decided to use it.

This is partially human-translated in the comments section. They didn't drop another target marker and didn't even use the one from the first attempt.

"At 6:52 AM, we issued a dummy sequence of launching target marker.

During the descent we found the target marker from last landing attempt, and we avoided the risk of confusing guidance system with multiple target markers.

Target marker was originally intended to help the horizontal guidance, but from the first landing attempt, we gained experience of guiding Hayabusa without target marker. So we planned a sequence of descent and landing that does not rely on the target marker for today's attempt."
