Huge thanks to the guys that helped transcribe this. I wanted to do something a bit better than just copy and pasting into a word document, or into a forum post - but I'm no graphic designer. Thank goodness for Publisher templates smile.gif Hopefully the result something you'll all like. The odd bit I've edited just for the sake of readability - but it's 99.9% as on the audio.

Any Typos and Spelling errors, please write them down and....put them in the bin smile.gif I've got bags to pack wink.gif

Enjoy

Doug

I've seen work from professional layout artists that's far worse than what you put together, Doug. I know, templates help a lot... smile.gif ... but it really did turn out looking very, very good.

I also think the piece has intrinsic value. I bet it would make a nice sidebar in some science magazines' article about the MERs in the next few months.

The transcript looks great, especially with the topical thumbnail images in the margin. I love the pictures of Sagan with Viking and the Europa submarine. ph34r.gif smile.gif

Ditto to what everyone has already said...Brilliant work, Doug. I really was expecting a simple cut and paste job, but I should have known you wouldn't be satisfied with that. This was a fitting way to memorialize an interview that was very special to us all.

Will there be another Steve Squyres interview?
Is there a possibility to write down a question I would like to ask him on this forum?
Doug?

P.S.
This one was great...I was amazed to find out that you have been talking to God himself (Steve S.) smile.gif

I dont know if there will be another one. Depends if I can get to the US or Steve visits the UK again smile.gif I'd like to interview Jim Bell actually - and Jake Matijevic as well. At some point in the not TOO distant future, perhaps 18 months or so - Helen and I will make a visit to the US and hopefully we'll be able to drop in and visit some people who made this whole experience possible.

Oh, of course, it'll be the same whenever I can arrange something like this -I'll let people know and ask for questions. It was very hard with the Steve Q'n'A as it clearly..well...talk about starting big with Interviewing people - short of Mike Griffin I could have picked bigger smile.gif I just hope I did justice to everyone who had questions.
