The creation of those mosaics hasn’t been changed. They are still being generated. The web changes are entirely external to the mission team and we have no say over them.

If people have thoughts regarding the new webpage designs and content (or lack thereof) I would encourage you to use the feedback forms / contact us pages etc etc.

Personally I find the wholesale deletion of historic mission websites like Pathfinder to be utterly inexcusable.

Thank Nev, but the ones on that page all pre-date the web redesign. All the drives after Sol 4132 are not listed

Hi - fyi I touched upon the mosaics question in this post:

I've also filled out forms about the mosaics (with only the ones up to Sol 4132 being available on the new website). A direct link to these is at https://science.nasa.gov/mars/resources/?types=mosaics. Recently I mentioned this to a friend of mine working at NASA and I think this is starting some good communication.

Glad to hear that newer mosaics are still being generated. Hopefully we can establish a way to reconnect to them. How about the old days with getting those "brown envelopes from JPL" ?

Yes indeed this is inexcusable if it was really deleted: the MpF website is part of NASA's history, this mission having paved the way for the following Mars missions at JPL, for engineering, science and Internet issues.
This MpF website should have been considered as an US National Landmark just for the history of the Internet alone as the Press stated then: "Mars Landing Signals Defining Moment for Web Use".

But, thanks to IKI, which was then JPL's partner for the Internet mirror site in Russia, the whole MpF site is still viewable at:
http://www.iki.rssi.ru/mpfmirror/default.html
