Here's a vintage animation of the Mariner 10 Venus encounter. http://www.venus.wisc.edu/anim_mariner10.html

Very nice cloud rotation animations and processing (for its time) including movement centered on specific features.
It's something that I always wanted to see and finally got to!

Wow, video digitized from a U-Matic cassette!

That is practically antebellum technology.


Seriously, though, it just underscores how important it is that archived data on older formats/media be 'regenerated' or transcribed as the cutting edge continues to advance.
