Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Chit Chat _ Mars and 67P in HTC Vive VR

Long time lurker here -

I've been working at Valve with some super-fancy new VR hardware, and being a complete space fanatic one of my personal side-projects was getting a really detailed terrain model of Mars built from Curiosity NAVCAM imagery into VR. I've been meaning to document the process for here for a while now (there's a general, non-space gist of it http://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/117448248511524033, with a Mars screenshot http://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/117448248511523471) - being able to literally walk around on the surface of a life-sized virtual Mars is quite surreal.

Anyway, one thing led to another and this little side-project is being shown off at Seattle's Museum of Flight starting tomorrow (Thursday), at their http://www.museumofflight.org/spacefest event, along with a super-detailed version of Mattias Malmer's glorious 67P comet nucleus shapemodel. (Thanks again for that!)
