A 32+ m drive on sol 4078, per "Google ruler". Edit: 33.16m given by JPL's interactive map.

Curiosity is approaching a route divergence point: on white the original notional route; on blue MSAR10.

Not as far as I am aware. I will be looking out for maps with new names in LPSC abstracts.

The blue route may be one that tracks the orbital detection of sulfates better.

@ scalbers: thank you for this insight!

A drive towards the channel on sol 4080. Just curiosity or will it attempt the crossing?

Sol 4080 map update with added geologic map and planned traverses. I believe Curiosity already passed into the sulfate unit.

Yes perhaps in general, though I'll try to find the map I saw that showed some orbital remote sensing detection of a good maximum area near the blue route in nogals map and the white route in this one. My guess is that this longer option would track the sulfates better while a potential crossing of the channel seems relatively flat at the present location.

Continued monitoring of sulfate areas was cited as a strong rationale for the most recent extended mission plan.
