Unmanned Spaceflight.com _ Chit Chat _ Why is ciclops.org down?

Posted by: rl90599 Sep 28 2020, 11:45 PM

I remember going there and downloading maps of Saturn's moons for rendering stuff, but now it's down. Why is ciclops.org down? Did its servers shut down? Is it going under maintenance, or they moved to a new website, in which I don't know? If you don't know about the website that I'm talking about, ciclops.org is where images from the Cassini spacecraft were posted online, such as photomosaic maps of Saturn's moons.

The Cassini mission is over, so I'm sure that the program funding for that site is also over. Cassini products should be on the https://pds.nasa.gov/ site now.

Other sites for the maps are
https://pds-imaging.jpl.nasa.gov/volumes/carto.html at the PDS
https://astrogeology.usgs.gov/search?pmi-target=saturn at the USGS

Cassini mission ended years ago so it's likely the site is being taken down due to a lack of funding to keep the domain.
