Before UMSF...
Before the Internet In a world of land-line phones and TVs with just 4 channels, and plain old snail mail... ...There was SPACE WORLD magazine! A received a nice present the other day - a Space World Magazine from May 1966 (45+years ago) The editor-in-chief, Francis Bremmer, was THE quintessential space enthusiast of his time. On page 49 of this issue, is the regular 'Lanchpad' feature, which is letters from the readers. A 13 year boy in junior high school is asking for information on Project Gemini. That would be me. Mr. Bremmer promises to send 'all the material which has appeared in Space World on Gemini" (!!!!) He did. I received a very fat and oversized manilla envelope with hundreds of pages on Project Gemini. Apparently, they had old issues about and they actually tore out all the relevant pages and sent them off to this young boy! (I am pretty sure I got A on that assignment). Mine is the second letter. (you have to zoom, but it is readable) Spaceworld_may1966.pdf ( 414.06K ) Number of downloads: 876 -------------------- CLA CLL
