First step would be to view a panorama 1. Start MMB. 2. Choose Viewer Settings in the Window menu to bring up the "Viewer Settings" view. 3. Change the view type to Panorama. 4. Click the tiny Mars icon with a plus on it in the top right corner of the Viewer Settings pane to create a new window. I have some 50 GB worth of images in my MidnightMarsBrowser folder, but I am still getting a message saying no images match the criteria. Are the default settings in the Viewer Settings pane OK to accept or does anything need to be changed there? cheers, micvoo |

Are the default settings in the Viewer Settings pane OK to accept or does anything need to be changed there? Make sure the 'limit images to last update' (or similar - I don't have MMB at work) box is unchecked. I think it may default to on. -------------------- My MER & MSL Imagery site - Martian Vistas ---- Twitter Feed (including sol by sol updates on Opportunity's activity)

The check box Limit to last update in the Presentation group box of the Viewer Settings pane is enabled...and still when clicking the tiny Mars icon with a plus sign a pane opens stating No images found matching the specified parameters. See attached screenshot for the current settings...

I said make sure the limit to last update was unchecked (disabled, no tick) - else it will just load the images from the last update which could be 0.
BTW: Try not to use .BMP format images as attachments. They are much harder to view than JPG's or PNG's and take up a lot more space. I've replaced your 1009kb image with a 30kb .PNG -------------------- My MER & MSL Imagery site - Martian Vistas ---- Twitter Feed (including sol by sol updates on Opportunity's activity)

The Limit to last update checkbox is disabled by default and does not give me a panorama.
When enabling it (whether I click on or do not click on the Apply Settings button at the bottom of the Viewer Settings pane) there is no change. Still no panorama's. Are there any other settings that need to be checked in order to view/create panorama's? cheers |

What might be missing is "Update > Rebuild Image Indexes..."

Without having MMB running in front of me it's a little hard to check/explain, but a few things to try.
1) Are you sure you don't have a panorama - the black screen could just be part of a very incomplete pan - try moving around with the mouse or arrow keys. (or select a different location with the P & N keys) 2) Try to limit the sols to just one location where you know there is lots of data - (e.g. Bonestell 1477 - 1696)* 3) One of the tabs should show a list of the sites/panoramas that have been loaded - look at that. 4) Maybe you haven't had the metadata updated properly, try doing an 'Update Metadata' from the 'Update' menu. EDIT: 5) What Tesheiner says * Before anyone says; yes I know that's not the exact sols that Spirit was at WH3, but those are the first and last dates of the Bonestell pan which is all I remember off the top of my head. -------------------- My MER & MSL Imagery site - Martian Vistas ---- Twitter Feed (including sol by sol updates on Opportunity's activity)

1) Does Slideshow mode work?
2) Have you tried Update -> Update Metadata? That was mentioned several posts back. |

For prudency I am currently redownloading all images and after that's been done, I'll try the suggestions in the two posts above. I'll post again in a few days or so with the results. Thanks for your help so far. Much appreciated!

Thanks for your help so far. Much appreciated! For goodness sake, don't redownload all images; if it's not working then downloading the entire image set isn't going to help. Just download from, say, sol 1700 on, or just get the very latest from Exploratorium. The former is easy to do using "Advance Update Images", the later is just one menu option away, "Get Latest Images from Exploratorium". Better yet, just try the suggestions above. |

Okay I have stopped the download. I have also done the following:
Not touched Limit to latest update (still disabled) Rebuild Image Indexes has been performed I do not have a panorama or a black screen. I have a white screen with no panorama. How do I limit the sols to just one location where I know there is lots of data - (e.g. Bonestell 1477 - 1696)*? There is no tab showing a list of the sites/panoramas that have been loaded as there is no panorama. Update Metadata has been performed. Still no panorama's when following the steps described in post 736, just a white screen saying No images found matching the specified parameters, which prompts the question, which parameters should be set and where (presumably in the Viewer Settings pane)? cheers. |

Have you tried
What might be missing is "Update > Rebuild Image Indexes..." Never mind I see that you had listed that - missed it first time. That took a while to run - right? i.e It did find lots of images to index. -------------------- My MER & MSL Imagery site - Martian Vistas ---- Twitter Feed (including sol by sol updates on Opportunity's activity)

Have you tried Yes, I listed what I tried in post 746. Still no luck though. Are there any parameters that need to be set (presumably in the Viewer Settings pane)? What step-by-step actions do you perform in order to display a panorama in MMB 2? I can try and copy that here... |

How do I limit the sols to just one location where I know there is lots of data - (e.g. Bonestell 1477 - 1696)*? For downloading, there are "From sol" and "to sol" fields in the "Advanced Update Images" dialog. Just put in the numbers. There is no tab showing a list of the sites/panoramas that have been loaded as there is no panorama. There is: "Window -> Time Intervals". The question is is anything listed there; the answer is almost certainly no though, since you say you are getting the blank panorama window. Still no panorama's when following the steps described in post 736, just a white screen saying No images found matching the specified parameters, which prompts the question, which parameters should be set and where (presumably in the Viewer Settings pane)? If you're not getting panoramas after following the above steps, then something is wrong beyond any settings in the Viewer Settings pane. At this point we need to start asking basic questions like, what kind of system are you using, what version of Java do you have installed. Also, select "Switch Workspace..." from the File menu and see what workspace directory you have selected. Is it on an external hard drive? Someone was saying there could be a problem with that. Also, you did not answer if Slideshow mode works. That would be helpful to know. |

Also, you did not answer if Slideshow mode works. That would be helpful to know. I found a Slideshow option next to View type in the Presentation groupbox of the Viewer Settings pane next. When selecting that and clicking on the tiny Mars icon with the plus sign I see a single picture being displayed. Does that work as expected? |
