Hello, my name is Leo Bister and this is your Mars Rover update for April 29th.

Today is sol 114 for Spirit in Gusev crater. We dug a trench on sol 113 and we spent sol 114 in the trench doing science. We took a long Mossbauer integration during the day as well as some Microscopic Imager pictures and right now it’s about midnight actually on sol 114 and we’re in the middle of some long APXS overnight integrations. At about 4 AM this morning we plan to wake up and take the instrument arm and move the APXS to a different location and do another 4 or 5 hour APXS integration there. So that’s what’s happening on Spirit.

Now over to Meridiani plains, Opportunity is currently on sol 94, we just uploaded the sequences for sol 94. Sol 93 was spent driving again towards the Endurance crater. We were able to clock about 66 meters yesterday. The IDD, the instrument arm, has been stowed the whole time. We also did some remote sensing of the surrounding area and some atmospheric science which we do on both vehicles almost every day. We do some atmospheric science work.
On sol 94, which is executing right now as I speak, we plan to drive again towards the Endurance crater. We plan to end the day roughly 25 meters from the crater. So that’s the plan for B.

Both vehicles remain in excellent health and that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
