1st post here... smile.gif First of all, nice work on all this and all the images posted on this and other images you have put together... I've tried some composites myself, and it's not easy sometimes to get decent results and colors.

I see the top and bottom edges are not straight - how are you doing what I suppose is the de-"linearization"?

Also, all the raw MER images, especially from the pan-cam appear to have slightly different colors in the center compared to the edges, as if there is a slight defect in the lenses. Have you considered applying a rounded edge filter to try to compensate for that?

I use a program called PTGui to stitch the images - not easy to get the settings right (focal length, ccd size etc) on pancam - much worse for navcam. I think i'm there now though

I know what you mean about the dark halo around some images. It's worst on Navcam and I've given up stitched Navcam, it just doesnt work for me ohmy.gif

To give you an idea of what benefit the proper release of imagery from the PDS offers....

Best I could do using JPL raw JPG's

Proper PDS raw images ( not stitched properly yet ! )

The difference is just SO good!

Looking good Doug! Unfortunetly for us, it appears not all the radiometric data is posted online yet, hopefully they'll have the whole series of sol 30-90 up shortly. I'm really looking forward to revisiting the sol 50 trenching and the sol 84 Bonneville pano as well.

Yeah - I did some searches that didnt quite work out as I expected - I just thumbed thru the notebook instead. I'm using .RAD's at the moment ( non linearized ) - as I prefer them for panorama stitching using PTGui. The linearized ones stitched well in photshop if you have just a few frames though smile.gif
