BTW, there's a lovely recognition by SS at 14.10 of all the "amateur scientists" like us sitting around the world, following the mission... - He goes online (surely UMSF) in the morning with his coffee and cornflakes and checks out all the mosaics and panos etc that people her have been doing! Woohoo!

For me one of the most interesting tidbits was the background story on just how MRO ended up with a transponder operating at the same frequency as the one on Spirit. I knew it was a matter of "we didn't expect the rovers to still be running when MRO got there" but didn't know they actually used a duplicate 'spare' transponder from the MER project.
