Here is Spirit at her latest position after sol 1332.
Consider this as a "draft" version because I'm off the town and without access to my usual tools.

sol 1334 position:

I haven't done one of these in a while -- but thought I would try my hand again while Tesheiner is travelling.

If it is correct ( I have bene known to be wrong about these things ), it looks like Spirit is headed for an exit ramp -- but was facing the "wrong way" in the last rear hazcam view?

Thanks, Horton. It would be a surprize to exit here, since they had spoken about driving to the southwest corner of HP and imaging across to Goddard/von Braun to help plot a route. But they've surprized us before...

Thanks, Horton, for covering this timeframe during my absence.
I was puzzled too when I saw those images and the ultimate rover's heading. "Where are they going?" was my thought.

Yestersol (1337) was driving day again and Spirit did a little turn to, imho, mmm, take a look and sniff these interesting layers around here.
Here is an updated route map (sol 1337).

I'm sure they wanted to grab a few more dips and strikes (measurements of layer geometry) from this end to confirm the overall dish shape of the plate. When they first announced their intention to rove over to this this part of the plate, I thought for sure they also wanted to investigate the apparent stratigraphic relationship of the small, kidney bean-shaped patch of layers that seems to encroach upon HP at the southern end. I have lightly highlighted and captioned the area in the attached HiRise from one of Eduardo's earlier maps.

I don't know if they are moving to finally investigate this apparent contact, but but I would like to see some closer imagery from the area.

Sorry to post to probably the wrong thread, but from the latest status update, the reason for the drive to the current location:
QUOTE
Spirit is in good health and on the move toward an appealing field of boulders at the southwest corner of "Home Plate." Preliminary data from the miniature thermal emission spectrometer indicates these boulders may be compositionally related to "Comanche"-class rocks first encountered on "Husband Hill."
