The dearth of small impact craters within the larger trough and crater, compared to the numerous small impacts on the surrounding highlands is really telling. There's lots going on here.

The pattern below the center of "Faults and Folds in Western Candor Chasma" is probably one of the prettiest Mars images. Somebody please crop it and submit to APOD.

Agreed; that's very striking. Dare I say that it also appears to be quite recent? Hope they can make another pass at this area in a year or so...

The crater chains at the top of the "Ares Vallis Cataract" are pretty remarkable too.
