Hello, this is the rover-report for Thursday February 19th. Today it is sol 26 on Opportunity and about this time the rover should be waking up from its morning nap. And changing instruments on the Instument Deployment Device to read out some of the measurements that we acquired overnight and to take some microscopic images of the location that we have placed our instrument on in the trench area. If you recall, we’ve build a trench, right in front of the rover, and we’ve been using our Instrument Deployment Device to look inside that trench. And today we should be taking some microscopic images and once that is complete we will stow the arm, back up, and use our Pancam and Mini-TES instruments to take images of that area as well and then, when that is complete, we will back up a little bit more, drive around a little bit to the right of that trench and continue on for about 12 meters, back to the El Capitan target. This is something we got a glimpse of when we first started our traverse around the outcrop-area. And because of the differences in the rockformations of the very interesting target which the team will be going back to. Today we will drive up to that target and tomorrow we’ll do some final approach positioning and then begin our full suite of instruments on the different targets.
