I bet it's not blue at all - its a color calibration issue. Most likely it is actually greyish.

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/pre.../20040315a.html Worth the wait? Sure, but I don't really see anything scientifically interesting in this crater besides some very nice looking dunes. However, the forms do appear to occur in "layers" with bright dust/sand mixed with basaltic ejecta near the rim, dark ripples along the walls, and bright dunes on the floor. -------------------- &@^^!% Jim!
