QUOTE (Phil Stooke @ Nov 13 2020, 10:37 PM) *
This is Jan's latest panorama in circular form. Next week we will probably move around the north end of this small scarp and up to the next level.

Phil

Do you have a wider view of this area to know how fare we are from the Greenheugh pediment?

JPL have just made their 'Where is the rover?' page interactive, you can now zoom in and a few other new features that I am yet to explore link There is a scale bar at all zoom levels. The distance to the Greenheugh Pediment varies on direction. The notional path shows the rover heading ~southeast skirting along the edge of the large sand sheet in front of the pediment towards and heading toward the sulfate unit and only then back on top of the pediment.

Thanks again to fredk's de-bayered images. Looking at the thumbs, there is a nice set of R-MastCams in the pipeline smile.gif

Excellent panorama, Jan. Here is a circular version - you can see the staircase we are climbing from here.

Some rather interesting outcrops towards the Sulfate unit.
A pair of RMI mosaics from sol 2947 roughly assembled in MS-ICE and annotated with the pointing (thanks to Fredk)
I've added an annotated crop from JPL's Sol 2943/45 R-NavCam mosaic that looks down the 'Red brick Road', identifying the possible location(s) of the terrain captured in the mosaics. Hopefully we'll get some context R-MastCam's to confirm the locations in the next days.

Thanks, Jan. A very nice drive of 60 m or a bit more to the SSW, along the bench. I was expecting a climb to the next bench close to the last stop so I guess I was wrong.

A great view from up here! We climbed up onto the next level. Thanks Jan.

A map update will be along soon - I've been busy with InSight recently.

Another drive on 2951, the end-of-drive images are not all down yet, but the ones we do have, provide us with an unobstructed view of one of our future science waypoints smile.gif
Attached Image

The terrain at the side the rover also looks to be target rich

The final 360 view from here should be rather special smile.gif
