My attempt at the Navcam 360 with the sky images added all the way to the zenith. No synthetic sky, just the not blended and blended result. smile.gif

No blending or exposure correction but flat-fielded.

Final seam blended version.

A Polar projection.

Swaying towards mud-cracks, yesterday I was convinced these were fractures smile.gif
The sol 1555 L-MastCam frame with the RMI inset, added a 10 cm scale bar (AlgorimancerPG) NavCam (1553) added to provide context. The raw Mastcam frame is here LINK

I debayered and stitched together some MC100 pictures taken on sol 1555. This is one of the polygons covered rock.

Really nice work James on your NavCam panorama! So if I'm right, you flat-fielded each frame before stitching them? What stitching software did you use?

Thank you Thomas. Yes, I flat-field every frame to remove optical glare artifacts and vignetting. That is an automated task. I use Kolor Autopano Giga for stitching, and then Photoshop CC 2017 for post processing.

Road to Hematite Ridge

Curiosity on the Road to Hematite Ridge

Based on a Sol 1516 Navcam mosaic crop...

I realised I had the ingredients to construct a colour composite of the scene...

CG Curi scaled to HiRISE projection
Sol 1516 - Mastcam left mosaic comprising the view
Sol 1520 - Mastcam right mosaic of Hematite Ridge
Sol 1463 - MAHLI mosaic of Mt Sharp
Extended sky

Really nice job on the Navcams James!

To be honest, I can't see the difference between before and after, because of something I never spoked : I'm colorblind. ... ...

Wow, very nice work, removing the "gloss" helps bring out the texture there.

Question- has any mars rover seen rain drop marks in the stone?

Thanks HSchirmer! Here is an even closer look at this texture with the telescope of ChemCam:

Another MastCam 100mm mosaic of this rocky outcrop with dessiccation-like surface texture, along with a RMI mosaic.
Green dots are artifacts of the debayering process.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Could that very small rubber duck shaped dark object be a very small meteorite that made the small crater in the mud being examined by ChemCam? Duck is at 12 O'clock in the depression.
