Hello,
Does anyone here own or have access to an original "Mariner V Handbook"? There is a pdf version floating around on the internet that looks like and comes from this https://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/casi.ntr...19680027088.pdf but some of the values in tables 4 and 5 didnt print completely and I am looking for the actual numbers. There are aprox 9 numbers I want. Suppossedly they have one at https://libguides.caltech.edu/jpl/beacon-in...ommons/archives but I dont work for JPL so I dont have a badge so I cant check anything out. I emailed someone there but they have not got back to me. I was thinking maybe some of members here might have one and could look. If you do I can post the specifics here. thanks |

The Caltech lib-guide search suggests is here at the JPL library....I can visit them, see if I can get eyes on it.
Is it just those few miss-printed table values you need? Pages 73 to 82? |

Hi Originally I thought I would care about the miles ones only but the ones which are circled green are most important. you can see in the image. Many thanks if you are able to check it out. |

I went and spoke to Julie Cooper up in the library today - they're going to pull it from the vault today and I'll get eyes on it hopefully tomorrow. If those pages are obviously better - I'll encourage them to re-digitize the whole thing....but I'll grab the pages you need with my phone in the mean time!

It was Julie Cooper I emailed in the first place. I didnt know it was in a "vault". Sounds like serious business. FYI The tables extend to more than one page. The pic I sent in the forum is a condensed version to focus on the areas I had problem with. Thanks for your efforts. |

I think you only need to be able to read 4 of those lines to be able to reconstruct the orbital elements of the spacecraft.

What I ultimately want is the state vector positions relative to J2000 over time even though I think the data is relative B1950 . That link will help some. I am still learning. |
