What was very funny at the little dinner we had in NYC a few weeks ago, was two of the people began to debate politics. That's easy to fix. Before you agree to any UMSF gathering you stipulate that forum guidlines apply, and to those who stray, well good luck trying to log back in when you get home. -------------------- If Occam had heard my theory, things would be very different now.

Rule 1.2 is a damn good idea. In fact, I personally have always applied it at work, and expanded it to include religion; I just don't talk about it, and remove myself from conversations that head down those roads. It's just too personal & emotional, and no two people will ever agree 100%.
As a result, I have many good friends and coworkers with views diametrically opposed to my own. I'd much rather value them as people then judge them on their opinions (or be judged myself). One great thing about the Net is, as Doug has often said, you can indeed take it elsewhere. There are zillions of forums concerning US politics alone, and I'm sure that's also true for most countries. -------------------- A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.
