Hi,
Can someone please help me identify what these items are that are on pioneer venus? I attached pic with green arrows pointing to the unknowns. I think its the OGBD atmosheric propagation experiments but i am not sure and not sure if when fully installed if they both should look the same from the exterior. thanks |

I apreciate the thought. If it doesnt help you it doesnt help me. ...iam kidding you. i have that pic already. I have collected all the digrams and pics all over the net. Thes two items dont ever seem to be clearly identifyed. |

I thought you might have seen it. In any event, the only detailed drawings of PVO I recall seeing (many years ago) were in some old books or NASA materials.

The thruster is visible in the image and your "ports" look like twins. The port to the left of the thruster (big green arrow) is near the location of the Sun sensor.
This may have been an access port for the build. Perhaps cables ran through it. The ports would have been buttoned up later. adzel |
