Hello, this is Beth Dewell for the Mars Exploration Rover Flight Director report for Wednesday March 23rd 2005.
Currently on Opportunity today is sol 413 at the end of the day. We drove approximately 175 meters today toward our goal of ‘Viking’ crater. ‘Viking’ crater is now approximately 225 meters away and we’re hoping to reach it by the beginning of the weekend. Also of note, we broke our record by driving 220 meters on sol 410. On the other side of the planet on Spirit today is currently sol 434 at the beginning of the day. On sol 433 we performed remote sensing due to our restricted sol period. On sol 434 we’ll continue driving around the Larry’s Lookout area. And that’s what’s happening on Mars today. |
