That video you posted also shows what appear to be diffraction fringes on Venus' dark disc, noticeable before ingress. Depending on how the optics and supports inside the telescope are oriented, you might get a diffraction "plane" that by chance matches with the Sun's limb slope at that point. -------------------- |
