Looks like MSNBC and the Today show are having a vote for the best picture in 2006. The results of the vote will be announced on the Today show on Dec 29. Here's the link. Click on the "Vote:Best picture" tab on the left to vote.

Backlit Saturn gets my vote.

The fact that the little tiny blue pixel in near the rings is us (Earth) really puts it into perspective.
