One of the hot topics on the Forum right now is the > Dents in Rover Wheels thread.
It is also the thread giving the biggest headaches to the admin/moderation team. The current set of observations of the so-called wheel "damage" and the recent changes to the driving parameters, have generated a lot of "I told you so" type comments. This has consequently generated a lot of replies pointing out the misconceptions inherent in those claims. Many even more outrageous comments have been deleted. Some for just being argumentative and some directing criticism at the mission team and engineers. These comments have breached Forum Rules and Guidelines such as 2.2, 2.5, 2.6 and others. Clearly members are not reading back through the thread and continue to repeat previous comments and misconceptions. Equally people don't seem to be reading readily available reports on the status of the wheels from the mission team (they are not hiding anything!) and other sources. Please note that the Forum admin/mod team will now simply delete posts in this thread without comment. We have discussed at length the idea of simply closing the thread, but for now we want it remain open as a record of changes to the wheels over time. Hence, the thread has been renamed to clarify the intent of the thread and to highlight the importance of reading back through the comments. The > Dents in Rover Wheels thread is now called: ROVER WHEELS: Monitoring changes over time NOTE: Read back through the thread to avoid repeating misconceptions Thank you for understanding and support of UMSF on this matter. |
