The mission named Luna-Glob are said to consist of one orbiter and one lander.

This just in... apparently Chandrayaan 2 will not be combined with Lune-Resurs any more. India will build its own lander for Chandrayaan 2 due to a delay with Luna-Resurs.

Nevertheless, I hope this means enough space was left for the possible rejoining of these two missions. That would guarantee some level of financial certainty for both.

It's hard to tell what is going on, as contradictory statements are now coming out of India. We'll have to wait and see.

I find the Chinese, Indian, and Russian programs hard to follow. There's often bursts of detailed information, but it's hard to separate out proposals from committed plans. In the case of the latter two programs, tight budgets may be a cause of more frequent replans than other programs have.

This lack of information is why I don't give these programs as much attention on my blog as they deserve.

by three years. The first one in the series is now not expected until 2019.

says that Luna 25 (Luna-Glob lander) will be postponed 2 years to 2021, with the next two missions, orbiter and lander, following at yearly intervals.

Some good news about Russia's Luna 25, that it's still on-track for an October 1, 2021 launch.
