So ! I've been working since weeks on a project of my own : a full color panoramic mixing Mastcam and Navcam imagery from Sol 1903. It was harsh, made on a 10 year old computer, but I had to do it.
And thank you for one of your martian sky modelisation scalbers smile.gif (but I had to modify it in order to have good merges)

Thank you so much Ant103.
What a nice picture indeed !
CONGRATULATIONS

Damia, nobody colorizes a Navcam panorama like you do! I took the liberty of making a couple of different reprojections of it.

Standard polar projection:

Circular (quasi-map-projected) projection:

Not sure if MSL has reached the Clay Unit.......

Probably not, but Curiosity is at the verge of the Crism hematite response and in one of the "blue-grey" patches referred to in Emily's last walkaround.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind comments about my last big project. This means a lot smile.gif

Back to some crude Navcam imaging with Sol 1939. The details of the rim of Gale are … amazing !

Interesting to see how the blended sky looks in Damia's very nice panorama. Given that the horizon is a challenging area to render correctly it makes sense that some extra blending was needed. I can sort of eyeball how that would work out, though a closer look might help as well. I'm gradually working on a Monte Carlo version of the sky images so we'll hopefully get to see how that compares.

Excellent work as always Damia, looking forward to your next contribution already, maybe the interesting R-MastCam full frames that are currently arriving from 1931 smile.gif (hint)

So it appears that we're at the highest spot we'll attain until we reach the actual foothills of Mt. Sharp and need to go down into the valley ahead to get to that point. How much elevation are we to lose on that trek down and across before we begin climbing again?

A 'preview crop' from a roughly stitched (MS ICE) and reduced resolution version of the sol 1943 selfie on the southern edge of the Vera Rubin Ridge. Looking forward to seeing what the processing wizards can do with these images smile.gif

An experiment: A wider shot with filled edges, extended sky & a masked lens blur to hide the ugly seams
