Curiosity has made an almost imperceptible move on sol 3504 - the drive was unsuccessful.
This is the first move after an unspecified difficulty on sol 3496, an excuse for me to update the targets' list.

QUOTE (PaulH51 @ Jun 7 2022, 12:14 PM) *
Marslife relies on the MSL NavCams being on the raw image server. The NavCams on the server have not been updated since those loaded on sol 3477.

It's not a rover problem, the issue is clearly on the ground as the R-NavCam mosaics are being assembled and made available here after each drive. It's some sort or server issue, hopefully it'll be fixed soon

Thank you, this really helped me understand how the site is constructed.

Curiosity is about to drill a new hole.
While we wait, here is a view of the new strategic route to access the Gediz Valley Ridge up close, alongside the previously released MSAR v10.
The new route will be included in the next kml file.

This update to sol 3514 (same location as sol 3509) includes:
  • A new strategic route to reach the Gediz Valley Ridge, available from the left panel under Route -> Path and Sols -> Notional Routes
  • The Avanavero drill hole (drilled on sol 3512), available from Science -> Locations and Targets -> Drill Locations. The User's Guide contains full instructions on how to make the most of this feature and enjoy a really close up (<5m) view.

2022's second quarter saw Curiosity take a new strategic route to the Gediz Valley ridge, the "crocodile back" terrain of Greenheugh Pediment having proved too hazardous for the rover's wheels. After driving almost 700 metres, Curiosity drilled another hole, just as the trimester was ending, and is now thoroughly examining it.
Here is a visualization of Curiosity's travels on the second quarter of 2022. In all images North is at the top.

The path for sols 3431 to 3519 (April 1st to June 30st, 2022) :

The above in a wider context (since sol 2009, April 1st, 2018):

Update to sol 3520. Although Curiosity hasn't moved since sol 3509, there are several new names, including the confirmed location for the Bolivar butte.

Update to sol 3531. Curiosity continues its southerly track, more or less following the new notional route,

and stopped about 12m away from an interestingly shapped boulder easily identifyable on the orbital map.

A short drive of about 10m brought Curiosity to within arm's reach of "Ilha Novo Destino".
Looks like the boulder piqued Curiosity's curiosity!
