Not very recent, but we waited hoping to see also this image published by AW... rolleyes.gif
Stitch was made from NavCam pictures taken on Sol651 and Nirgal colorized them (original Pano in the next post).

... your polar projection of the pan is really a stunner, dilo

finally we see it in the forum: "The Descent to Hell... er Haskin Ridge " wink.gif

Have you noticed that JPL has posted a black&white version of the same panorama on the press-release site ?

Whew. Polar pans on the hill are breathtaking, but this one is more so.

Next: an animated HazCam from Hillary to Homeplate, polar-projected.

Ha.

JPL published the B&W panorama on Nov 11, 2005 and its titled "A Sense of Place"

see it here in labeled and unlabeled format

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/pre.../20051111a.html

Dilo,

how about you do the same; add a version with place name labels and date with Sol 651, 2 Nov 2005

and maybe also put in the JPL title "A Sense of Place: Colorized "
