It's just after 10, East coast time, and for once I'm free to watch the live webcast of a Von Karman lecture, so enticingly advertised on the JPL website, so s-l-o-w to be archived for those who miss the live webcast.

They expect ~40 pixels on one of the 2 new satellites, so, not a close flyby of either new object, but similar resolution to what we have on Pluto now. Also, a ring around Pluto is not ruled out at this point, but reading between the lines, I don't think a ring system is expected, either. They will also see if Charon is atmosphered. |
