We're getting big daily updates from pancam, unfortunatley still nothing from inside the crater. Are all the images coming down right now ones for the 360 pan taken at "Middle ground" ? Perhaps they're emptying the flash memory ready for a photographic assault on Bonneville.

I gave him some perceptivity functions (how much does the eye respond to different wavelengths of light) when he built his coloration functions originally, if he hasn't strayed far from those original numbers, its something like:
r = 0.39 * five + 0.02 * six + 0.49 * two g = 0.62 * five + 0.04 * six b = 0.02 * five + 0.52 * six the reason my own coloration is so far deviated from that is that the original method he was using, and from what i gather is still being used, creates the scene as if the *only* light that hits your eye is that which exists in those specific wavelengths...as if you were wearing glasses which permitted light at 753NM, 535NM and 483NM. But I can't deny, they do look very similar to NASA's pics. |
