Good morning, I’m Byron Jones. It’s Friday July 22nd and this is the Flight Director Report for the Mars Exploration Rovers.
On Spirit today is sol 551. We just completed about a one meter drive to a nice outcrop where we will spending the weekend, doing remote sensing. One day we have planned to do some Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer activity. Another day we’ll be doing some RAT brush work and another day some Moessbauer. On ther other side of Mars it’s sol 531 for Opportunity. She’ll be spending the weekend doing some remote sensing and driving south towards Erebus crater. Right now we think we’re about 200 meters away from there. Well that’s it for today, I’m Byron Jones. Thanks for tuning in and that’s what’s happening on Mars today. |
