The Asteroid 99942 Aphophis (2004 MN4) makes it closest approach to Earth (0.268 AU) on 8th August.
Those in the know will understand that it is worth observing. |

Thanks for the link JRehling.
I read blobrana's post as an encouragement to amateur astronomers to observe today's passing, that's why I asked for images. Now that I reread blobrana's post, I think I probably missunderstood his words ; of course there is no doubt that we have to carefully monitor this asteroid every time we get the opportunity. |
