Unusual Find, Rock left a trail

My image processing leaves a lot to be desired, but I hope you can see what I'm pointing out in the attached image.

The anaglyph was made using Spirit Sol 71 images:
2P132665311EFF1800P2447L5M1 and
2P132665324EFF1800P2447R1M1

What I've cropped and enlarged is a rock that's slightly up on the sand dune. It appears to have two lighter stripes (than the rest of its coating) toward its middle. The interesting thing is that the ground behind the rock has a 'path' that is lighter than the surrounding surface materials that seems to line-up with the stripes of the rock. I have no explanation for it and it may be coincidental.

Let me know what your thoughts are.
