The following must be the first glimpse over the south edge to the
Ultreya dune field ... I dedicate this image to Ustrax, whose dream of the Ultreya legend, no matter if it's "only" a dune field or not, has been an ever entertaining theme and made this rover journey and this forum all the more interesting and worthwhile to attend to ![]() Thank you, Ustrax for sharing your dreams The stitching and color balance is not perfect, don't have much time now, because I'm just about on the way to my late-summer vacation in France & Italy... |

May I respectfully request that we not abuse the quoting functions of this forum's excellent software? If I remember correctly, this is not the first request of this nature to be posted in the forum. I really do understand everyone's enthusiasm as we follow this excellent adventure, but I don't see the value of copying a previous post in it's entirety, including embedded images, especially when the quoted post is on the same page.
This may be less of an issue for members who are fortunate enough to be on a broadband connection, but some of us only have access to dial-up, where every bit of bandwidth is precious. But disregarding those of us who are bandwidth impaired, needless repetition in a thread only clutters the information flow. A classic example of a topic gone bad is the Ultreya Abyss thread. It started out nicely, but the last few pages contain many redundant quotes that added no value, some of which copied everything from the immediately preceeding posts. That really serves no purpose. I'm very sorry about the rant, but I am still trying to download the image Nirgal posted. -------------------- ...Tom
