Indeed, that was one of the best views from the summit. The L7/R1 pairs have been my favorites from the start, for their crispness, though the infrared filters often contain more mineralogical information. There was a similarly astounding L2/R2 panorama from Sol 585 that looked quite different in the near infrared.

The left side of the Sol 603 view doubly impressed me in 3D. It was one of those, "Wow! I'm really there" moments. It was so reminiscent of some of my terrestrial climbing experiences, that I dreamed of scrambling the hills of Mars, chosing this place to sit down and share a glass of wine and a loaf of bread with my companions.
