From the description of activities on Spirit Sol 81 it sounds like the darker left side was the target of a second ratting, with a slightly different angle from the looks of it, dusting the right, untouched side in the process (?). Anyway, its an interesting look compared to the other ratted rocks we've seen so far.

Obsidian?

The glassy surface is there pre-RAT (left side abpve), with only a brushing required to expose it.

See this shot taken sol 79 before any RATting was done at all:
