QUOTE (lyford @ Oct 1 2005, 11:04 AM) It took me a while to parse that title - my brain just never expected to see those words together in the same sentence... But now it almost seems like the title of a children's book: "Spirit, The Robot Mountain Goat." And I vote awesome on the view! I think "Robot Mountain Goat" was a description that Steve Squyres used when they were doing the slope tests before going into Endurance (it's mentioned in his book or somewhere). Except then the rover was actually a crater-goat, now she is really a mountain-goat. It just seemed a natural description I share the general frustration that so many people seem to have lost interest in the rover's adventures, but obviously it's not the people here. |

Is that a dust deviel or a stitching artifact in those images. About 1/3 of the way in from the right. It shows up in the original stitch only it's blurrier.... -------------------- Turn the middle side topwise....TOPWISE!!

Dilo,
Your pan of Post #17 -- way cool. As I have said before, Mars looks just like we hoped it would . . . and of course the effect of being on a peak is irreplaceable . . . Glenn |

There is motion but not seemingly of the actual wheels, i.e as if the rover just settled a little.
Sol 623 at 1206 is the time I have for RHAZ images Doug |

My first image post after vacation. Dilo did something similar earlier as well. Here I took Tesheiner's pan from sol 619, did some fiddling to remove steps from the horizon, and made a polar-type pan (with exaggerated relief near the horizon) from it.
