On Sol 620, Spirit captured what IMO has to be one of the most scenic dust devils imaged so far: a beautifully visible dancing funnel extending high into the sky in front of the hazy Thyra Crater rim.
Beautiful b/w panoramas and anaglyphs containing this DD were already posted on the other thread. In the following image I did a further (subtle) enhancement on the dust devil (difference technique against the sky), vignetting correction and a hand colorization of the R1-filter frame.

Jvandriel, great to see you with it at work too.. Would gladly see the full res. too - can you put your full res. pans on such a free image webspace maybe, or how about a low price webspace to you?

There is another big DD in SW direction in this rough 3-panCam stitch from Sol621:
I have impression that DD path is not perfectly linear but slightly erratic (time sequence is L7-L2-L5 or B-R-G) but probably this is normal, also on the Earth. -------------------- I always think before posting! - Marco -

Cool technique with the multiple filter frames ! does anyone know the time interval between the exposures of the inidvidual filter frames ? ... should give quite a good idea of the ground speed of the DD ... |
