Oppy cleared a couple of small dunes a day ago:

You can see an alternate path the drivers could have taken that would have been right along the rim of Erubus:

With these pictures, the first thing is to go in straight up between drifts up to the next outcrop closet to rim and see about the feasibility the ways to approach to the rim.
