26 Nov. Close Flyby (500 km.) of Rhea...(Size: 1538 km.)
27 Nov. Distant Flyby (108,000 km.) of Enceladus...(Size: 512 x 494 x 490 km.) 27 Nov. Distant Flyby (86,000 km.) of Helene...(Size: 36 x 32 x 30 km.) This should be interesting...  Can anybody give a bit more information on the upcoming flybys??? Is this the best image of Helene that we have??? Vojager 2 - distance :341000 km)

Going back a couple of weeks in this thread: I can't resist following up on this --

Rhea is definitely a candidate for the most boring major moon, certainly. But it's too bland to be ugly. In fact, some of the most interesting bodies in the Solar System are also the ugliest ones. Triton, for example, looks as if whatever is wrong with it might be cured with a penicillin shot. I would put Triton in second place on my ugly list, slightly above Oberon, and of course Io with its bad case of acne. The grand champion, though, has got to be Iapetus. This is particularly true in the Voyager 2 images, where it looks like it has been smeared with some vile, greasy substance. Even the areas of Roncevaux Terra in these images look like they've been glazed over with that weird stuff you sometimes see on cheap cup cakes and day-old donuts. In more recent years, the Cassini images have not improved things very much for Iapetus in a cosmetic sense. For example, the equatorial band is reminiscent of a slightly fat person trying desperately to fit into a too-tight pair of pants before going out on Bingo night. (The Snowman crater also looks like a black eye, which doesn't help, either.) |

And surprisingly enough, should the material turn out to be a kerogen related material, if a sample were placed on your kitchen counter, it probably would be a greasy, vile substance. Probably wouldn't like the warm kitchen temperatures too much, either. Any entrained ammonia or CO or C2H2 would make it even worse.
