Cool stuff dilo. Now we need to get the other side of the crater in for an overhead view. Then we do the same for Erebus? Latest 360?

As known, a vertical projection on a 3D subject like this isn't easy, because requires a precise elevation terrain model.
Here I tried a very simple model, with Endurance approximated with an ellipsoid extruded from flat terrain...

I know this is not very realistic (rim is elevated over plain and crater isn't perfectly circular) and in fact this produce clear distorsions, especially close to the rover (see last picture).
However, result appear encouraging... (same method could be eventually be implemented in the Phil's Atlas work...) wink.gif
