Going To Homeplate...

Short time to enjoy Eldorado images and now... just released picture of HomePlate, I know still hundred of meters away but seems so close! smile.gif
stitch of two Sol712 NavCams:

It seems Spirit is now at the same level of HomePlate plateau!

Here I tried to identify some features seen from the summit... not totally sure on bright sand spots and rocks, any suggestion?

As Steve Squyres said in his last update: "...it's time for the sprint to Home Plate. Power is still reasonably good at Gusev, with about 500 watt-hours per sol, and we're going to drive hard and fast while the sun shines."

If they want Spirit up on the slope of McCool Hill by sol 800, they'd better leave Home Plate by sol 750/760. So, the quicker they reach Home Plate, the more time they have to look around there.

Here's my, rather tight, schedule proposal (not taking into account any mishaps):
today = sol 717
arrival at HP = sol 725 (?)
leave for McCool Hill: sol 750
Arrival at "hibernation point": sol 800
