The 9-inch Steinheil-Cooke refractor at the local observatory got my attention when I had my first look at the Moon through the instrument. Danny Caes is the observatory's Moon-expert and was of great help in operating the old telescope.
I had the first chance of taking some shots a few days ago and I'm very glad with these first images... http://www.awalkonmars.com/astromoonphoto.htm The sky was kinda hazy so the resolving power should improve, if, weather permitting, we can do this more in the future.
