Panoramic Camera Degredation?, Is it me or is it getting blurrier?

Maybe it's the filter? Maybe it's super compression? But some of the Pancam images from farther back showed the hills clearer than this. Is there info on why these kind of images are being inconsistant in their clarity?

Since those pictures were taken, Spirit should be about 200m closer to the hills.
