Bye, bye, Erebus!
The journey south has started and I think it's time to start a new thread.

This is a very first estimation of the current position after sol 760 drive, plotted on top of a previous route proposal; I will double-check that once the back-looking navcams are downlinked.

Edited: I measured the net drive to that point; it's about 31-33m35m.

PS: Algorimancer, your Photogrammetry and RangeFinder Application is simply great!!!

I'm not able to find the map that someone labeled using the informal names of the minor craters (Alpha, Beta, gamma, delta, epsilon)

It would be interesting to see that along side other peoples specualtions using pancam and navcam, trying to reconcile what's what. Like this.... http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.p...ost&id=7049 by algorimancer.

Here you go,

It doesn't show the current position (no new map route?), but it shows the referenced craters and Hawking Rock's presumed location. This is what I was plotting wide baseline photogrammetry results on last night. I forgot to label Gamma, but it's the small crater below the label "Sandsheet". "Waco" used to be Alpha, and Beta is that small crater to the left (west) of Beagle (I'm sure it has a real name now).

FYI - I'm going to close this thread as we're going to get confused between this and the other Vic thread...

Future discussion here...
