There's Movement At The Station Options

Hi,

Seems the "Rock Pool" with the tracks has something happening with objects on the floor of the pool moving around, some disppearing and some appearing.

First checkout this image from Sol 137:

The 9 Sols later on Sol 146:

Two of the new objects in the Sol 146 photo have dark patches just below them and one new object is in the middle of the lowest track. The group of objects at the left extreme end of the right most rock shadow (Sol 146 photo) have been rearranged.

It would appear that more of the Sol 137 object can be seen. IE, it appears they are less submerged.

What are you trying to suggest then?

I see nothing 'untoward' as it were in this images. Wheels have run along the neigbouring rock - the edges have touched into the soil and moved things.

Then have a good look at the darker "Tracks". It would seem hard to fully explain the totality of the "Tracks" by the right rock face a being totally created by rolling BBs.

The dark tracks / soil near the right rock face have tight radius that could have not been formed by rolling BBs, especially as there are NO BBs resting at the rock face.

The same can be said of the dark tracks / soil surrounding the group of 4 BBs just to the left of the right rock face.

If the BBs were not there, I would suggest the dark tracks / soil would represent moisture weeping from under the right rock face. The rolling BBs may have broke through the lighter surface soil and exposed the darker / moist soil underneath.

Nothing happens in those images - I really cant see what you're talking about.

Not to mention that all those images are taken within about 7 minutes of one another.

Doug,

I agree that all the later images are essentially identical, albeit in differrent filters. Nonetheless, there is a change from the earlier shot.

Unlike the original poster, however, I see no problem with the spheroids being the cause. We see continuous tracks, some more curved than others and one very interesting track that shows skipping or bouncing of the spheroid.

Also, at least one spheroid is now found stalled in the track.
