As I have the possibility of making large prints here at work, I'm thinking about taking advantage of it and prepare an exhibition of large, mainly panoramic anaglyphs for the kids of the local school.
So what I'm requesting is indication of, in your opinion, the best anaglyphs made so far and, from the authors, authorization to print them out (with obvious indication of the name).
I'm thinking about a set of 20, 10 for Spirit and 10 for Oppy, from landing site to current position...
Thank you in advance! smile.gif

Well - this is the place to start for the official stuff smile.gif

And for Spirit

the larger versions are all available in that top link smile.gif

If you find some of my bright yellow ones that you want to use - go ahead - and if you want to switch them to look like normal anaglyphs - just load them in photoshop, and copy the green channel into the blue channel

Thanks Doug! smile.gif

I like your yellow ones! Can you provide me links of them to prevent this lazy ustrax of searching for them in the forum?... tongue.gif

Feel free to use either of mine* - I'll be making a bigger version of the McMurdo one once all the data is taken. And maybe an updated version with the most recent data in a few days.

With mine, be aware that if you print them too large the L/R offset on the horizon could become quite big and I suspect that it is impossible to view anaglyphs unless the offset is less than the seperation between your eyes. blink.gif

*On one condition: you take and send some pics of the event. smile.gif

Cheers,

James

Thank you James.
I'm thinking about, with larger panoramas, making three panels, each one of them one 1mt and adjust in a way like the original location, something like this:

Do you think it will work live?

If possible I would print the whole thing as one and then mount it on a curved (or angled) background. I would be worried that by printing three seperate panels your eye may be drawn to the seams and make the anaglyph harder to view.

When you say 'like the origonal location' I guess you mean angled to reproduce the fov of the image. Your are aware that that image is already 200+ degrees around, so you'd need to wrap it around a lot more than your picture implies? While viewing the full 360 from inside a cylinder would be very cool I'm not sure how well it'd work in practice, I find it easier to view if you 'step back a bit', which wouldn't be possible in this case. I guess you can always test what you can get way with once its printed. smile.gif

But what you're saying is precisely what I'm intending to do... smile.gif
Seameless printed panoramas applied to a background curved to match as nearly as possible the FOV, maybe I didn't express well...
About the cylinder idea I had thought about that and what I'm thinking about doing is something like this.

Bob...er...If I have the possibility of making large prints, and when I say large, is LARGE, as many as I want to, when I want to, why should I look for a projector? Anyway, the projector won't fit for what I'm thinking of.

Oh good, I obviously read too much into your first diagram! smile.gif

Should be spectacular. cool.gif
