Closest in 76000 years, How do we know that?

The opposition of 2003 is known to be the closest in 76000 years. How do we know that? Most planetarium software does not reach further back than 3000 BC...

That limitation is artificial, based on what the makers expect amateur users are most likely to need. Professional analytical tools can explore orbits over millions of years.
